Q: How much larger can I be with breast augmentation?
A: Usually 2 bra sizes, i.e., 34A to 34C, 36B to 36D, etc.
Q: What are the options for incisions?
A: Incisions can be made in the colored part of the nipple called the areola or just above the breast crease. The most common location that we prefer is in the armpit since there are then no scars on the breast. The armpit incision is almost invisible in a few months.
Q: Are the implants placed above or below the chest (pectoral) muscles?
A: This is determined on an individual basis at the time of consultation.
Q: What is rippling?
A: All saline implants can "ripple" or cause ridges which can be felt and sometimes seen through intact skin. Placing implants under chest muscles or using special ripple resistant implants can almost eliminate this problem.
Q: How long will the implants last?
A: The implants we use are guaranteed by the manufacturer. Should a deflation occur, the company will provide a replacement for the life of the patient. Surgical charges for the first year are included.
Q: When can I go back to work?
A: This varies from 3 days to 1 week depending on the situation.
Q: When can I resume full activity?
A: Usually after 3 weeks.
